Sir Francis Bacon on education

Sir Francis Bacon on education March 18, 2015

Francis Bacon
Sir Francis Bacon,
1st Viscount St. Alban, Attorney General, and Lord Chancellor of England
(d. 1626)

One of my favorite quotations about education, from Sir Francis Bacon:

“Reading maketh a full man; conference a ready man; and writing an exact man.”

Understand that, by conference, he means “serious conversation” or “deliberation in council.”
