Reports have it that the average Hillary Clinton speaking engagement, prior to the launch (a few weeks ago) of her presidential campaign on behalf of “everyday people,” lasted approximately an hour and cost approximately $300,000.00.

That’s roughly $5000.00 per minute.

And it’s also said that Ms. Clinton, perhaps fearful of relapsing into her recent state of being “dead broke,” demands accommodation in the hotel’s Presidential Suite (along with other commensurate perks) when she is out on speaking tours — as well as transportation by private jet wherever possible, and in first class on the extremely rare occasions where it’s not.

I conclude, based on such facts, that there’s considerable room for competition in the American speakers market.

Accordingly, I hang out my shingle:

I hereby announced the launch of Daniel C. Peterson Oratory, Inc. (DCPO).

I think you’ll agree that DCPO’s rates are more than competitive:  Our organization will peg its fees at 0.01 (or one percent) of Ms. Clinton’s.

Which is to say that the average DCPO speech will cost just $3000, meaning that the rate for a typical hour-long address will be a mere $50 per minute.

And, although DCPO’s principal orator surely enjoys nice accommodations, we won’t insist upon presidential suites and will be perfectly happy, if it’s not too much to ask, with business class travel.  Or, at least, Delta Comfort Plus, with extended leg room.  If that’s okay.

DCPO — the reasonable alternative, for all your oratorical needs.
