“You Will Be Assimilated: The Same-Sex Marriage Bait and Switch”

It seems very likely that, within a few days, a lawyer by the name of Anthony Kennedy will cast the deciding vote to redefine the primordial human institution of marriage for the United States of America.  His qualifications for this rather consequential task include three years of studying contracts, the law of evidence, torts, criminal law, and other such things at Harvard Law School.

I would like to be surprised, but I’m pretty much resigned to at least a 5-4 Supreme Court decision in favor of same-sex “marriage.”

There will be a great deal of vocal rejoicing.  And those of us who’ve lost, if indeed we do lose, will be stoically reflective.

But only for a while.

Because, in my view, when the decision in Obergefell v. Hodges comes down, the fun will just be beginning.
