Many men went to prison for the Principle — for what we might call, with reference to the 1880s, “the love that dared not speak its name.”
Does the United States Government owe them an apology? Reparations? Will photographers be legally obliged to cover polygamous weddings? Will people be forced to bake cakes for them, and be silenced if they object? I foresee all SORTS of court-sponsored fun!

Any mainstream, believing Latter-day Saint is likely to feel at least some ambivalence about what may be coming over the horizon in addition to same-sex “marriage”:

One thing, though, is absolutely clear: There’s a whole lot more historical precedent, worldwide and in all eras, for polygamy — or, more precisely, for polygyny — than there is for gay “marriage.”

On what non-arbitrary and principled basis can our overlords fail to endorse it when they’re asked?
