As some ardent followers of Donald Trump have recently pointed out to me, reading books about Islam, as well as knowing Muslims, traveling and/or living in Muslim countries, and simply knowing too much about Islam and Islamic history, can bias the person who’s guilty of such things and render him or her unqualified to have a worthwhile opinion about Muslims and the islamic world.
