On Sunday last, I participated with Dr. Zuhdi Jasser in a fireside at the Phoenix East Stake center.
On the Friday before, I spoke to a group at the LDS Institute in Tempe (on the campus of Arizona State University) about Islam, and then, after lunch, a fairly large number of us attended the midday prayer at the Tempe, Arizona, mosque (shown above).
The imam of Tempe, Ahmad Shqeirat, was in California on Friday, but he returned on Saturday and, that evening, he and I spoke to an audience at the Tempe LDS Institute and took their questions.
I thought the events went rather well. There was certainly (from my vantage point, anyway) a good spirit at them.
However, there were many questions (turned in on cards) that we just couldn’t get to, for lack of time. So it occurs to me that maybe I could do some good by addressing a few of those questions on this blog.
If there’s interest, I’ll start tomorrow. (It’s drawing nigh unto 1 AM and — uncharacteristically early for me — I’m beginning to run down.)
