I’m not a Trumpist, of course. But it would seem that, when your candidate risks losing the most committed portion of his party’s support, it might not be absurdly unreasonable to regard that as a potential problem.
Most observers have thought that the “Mormon moment” was over with Mitt Romney’s loss to Barack Obama in 2012. That may not quite be true.
