Mr. Trump praises Saddam Hussein

Mr. Trump praises Saddam Hussein July 7, 2016

In a cemetery in Halabja
On 16 March 1988, Saddam Hussein’s airplanes dropped canisters of poison gas on the Iraqi (!) Kurdish town of Halabja. At least 5000 residents died immediately, and at least 7000 were injured to the point of suffering permanent aftereffects. Or, as Mr. Trump puts it, “Saddam Hussein throws a little gas. Everyone goes crazy. ‘Oh, he’s using gas!’”

Mr. Donald Trump, who will soon be the Republic nominee for the White House, recently praised Saddam Hussein.

Really.  He did.

“Trump, Saddam, and Us”

“Trump is Clueless on Saddam and Terrorism”

Of course, he’s also praised Vladimir Putin, Kim Jong-un, and the leaders of Communist China.

As I write, by the way, I’m waiting for the beginning of a presentation at a BYU conference on religious freedom by Imam Muhammad Masri, the president and chairman of the board of the Islamic Society of Central Florida.

This has been a first-rate conference, thus far.  It continues through tomorrow.  If I get a chance, I’ll report at least briefly on it.
