Last night, we attended a concert at the Victoria Nasjonal Jazzscene here on Karl Johan Gate with the Jacky Terrason Trio — which consists of the French-American pianist Jacky Terrason, Burniss Travis on the double bass, and Lukmil Perez on drums. I really enjoyed it, except for the part where I tried to move my Coke Zero bottle out of the way on the floor, managing only to knock it noisily over during a quiet part of the performance and then, when I lunged to catch it, knocking my wife’s over, too. Fortunately, it was dark.
We cruised Oslo’s harbor area today, and then walked over to the National Gallery, where we saw more Cezannes and Monets and such than I expected, as well as — naturally, Edvard Munch’s The Scream and his Madonna, among others.
My wife and son are off at another concert right now — the Oslo Jazz Festival continues — but I’m feeling a bit under the weather, so I’m at the hotel, relaxing. Sort of.
