It’s still possible that Mr. Donald J. Trump could be the next president of the United States. But it’s quite unlikely, and he seems to be preparing for his historic loss:
His only hope is that Hillary Clinton might self-destruct, leaving him as the sole electable survivor of this year’s presidential reality show. And she could, conceivable. She’s a terrible candidate, the second most unpopular in modern history. But she’s running against the most unpopular. Lucky Hillary. Trumpulism managed to impose on the Republican Party the one candidate to whom she virtually could not lose.

The only real question seems to be how much damage Trumpulism will have done to the Republican Party. Will it wipe candidates out down the ticket? Will Republicans lose the Senate? He’s apparently fine with that. Will Republicans lose the House? He may not care. Will it weaken the Republican Party for a generation, if not altogether destroy it? Will it leave the United States with, effectively, a one-party system?

Ben Shapiro eloquently explains why conservatives should not support Mr. Donald J. Trump:

Mr. Trump is an unspeakably awful candidate:

To any true-believing Trumpulists out there: I don’t particularly hate saying that I told you so.
This was very nearly as predictable as tomorrow’s sunrise.
