Yesterday’s temples conference at BYU, co-sponsored by the Interpreter Foundation, offered an extraordinarily rich banquet of very interesting presentations. Thanks to all those who participated in it and, of course, to my colleague, longtime friend, and former missionary companion, Stephen D. Ricks, for organizing it.
Although I don’t yet know the timeframe, videos of the presentations will eventually appear on the Interpreter Foundation website, where they will be freely accessible to all. Thanks to Sid Unrau and Tom Pittman for handling the filming at the conference and for dealing, with considerable aplomb, with the technical details of bringing presenters in electronically from the Democratic Republic of the Congo and, even more hazardously, my native southern California.
But the treats aren’t finished yet. Don’t forget that, at 4 PM on Wednesday, the English Methodist biblical scholar Dr. Margaret Barker will address the subject of “Theosis/Divinization” (human deification) in the Varsity Theater of the Wilkinson Student Center on the Provo campus of Brigham Young University. A panel featuring Andrew Skinner, David Larsen, and y’r obd’t srvnt will follow after her remarks:
