German has a perfect word for what I’m now feeling:  Schadenfreude.

Chris Christie’s Low Approval Rating Just Broke an All-Time Record

It’s certainly not the highest of emotions.  On the whole, it’s rather unworthy of a Christian.

More than a few people saw Chris Christie’s behavior during the 2012 presidential election — including a convention keynote address in which, to a remarkable degree, he spoke about himself rather than about Mitt Romney, as well as his literal (and highly public) embrace of President Obama just prior to election day — as a betrayal of the Republican presidential nominee.  I was among those people, and, during this most recent presidential contest, I was unimpressed with Mr. Christie’s aggressive-turned-suddenly servile behavior toward Donald Trump. The man absolutely reeks of unconcealed self-interest, and I’m not especially upset to see his political career apparently circling the drain.

I shall endeavor to repent.
