One of the best things I’ve read on Mr. Trump’s anti-immigration decree, and it was written by someone who cannot honestly be accused of being indifferent to the struggle against Islamist terrorism:
“Malevolence Tempered by Incompetence: Trump’s Horrifying Executive Order on Refugees and Visas”
It’s rather long, but it’s superb.
And, if you want to supplement that piece by Benjamin Wittes with other analyses, I suggest the following, from the “Volokh Conspiracy” blog, which is mostly written by law professors and which mostly — this is important — reflects an orientation to the political right (libertarian, conservative, or occasionally centrist):
“Was Trump’s executive order an impeachable offense?”
“Four federal judges issue orders blocking parts of Trump’s executive order on immigration”
“Making America cruel again – Trump’s executive order on refugees”
“The Refugee Order and the Department of Justice Lawyers”
And then there’s this, from a more liberal writer:
“Trump’s refugee ban could get much, much worse. That’s why it must be stopped — now.”
If you want to put a personal or human face on this issue, here are a couple of stories:
“Thanks to Donald Trump, a 12-Year-Old Girl with American Parents is Stuck in Djibouti”
“Donald Trump immigration ban: Melbourne High student in US visa knock back”
