The first half-hour of this BYU-Radio interview features Dr. Safi Kaskas, with whom my wife and I were privileged to spend a fair amount of time last Saturday, Sunday, and Monday:

I’m grateful to my friend Jussi Kemppainen (of Helsinki and Jeddah) for arranging the visit.

You can see some of Dr. Kaskas’s comments about his recent visit to Utah (including some time at LDS Church headquarters) here on his Facebook page:

I was given a copy of his new translation of the Qur’an — in an edition containing biblical cross-references (something that is, so far as I know, without precedent) — and I very much look forward to carefully studying it.

He and his wife, Eman, are articulate, congenial, and committed spokespersons for a vision of Islam that fosters human flourishing and peaceful understanding between faiths.  May their tribe increase!
