Notes on Monterey, 2017.

The Wharf in Monterey
Our first night’s dinner was on Monterey’s Fisherman’s Wharf. It was really good, but I don’t remember the name of the specific restaurant. If you like seafood, though, I don’t think you can go too far wrong on the Wharf.  (Image from Wikimedia Commons)

We’ve been in Monterey for the annual Jazz Bash by the Bay.

As always, I think that my favorite act here was Tom Rigney and Flambeau.  (We like Caroline Dahl on her own, too.  And Danny Caron is a fine guitarist.)

Other favorites include Ivory & Gold (and Jeff Barnhart singly), anything with Carl Sonny Leyland, and the High Sierra Jazz Band.  There are others, but that’s enough for now.

In terms of local restaurants, we returned again this year to the Monterey Fish House, which was excellent.  And we took a local’s recommendation and tried Rosine’s.  We weren’t disappointed.  If you like Italian food, you’ll like Rosine’s.  And, of course, we ate on Fisherman’s Wharf.
