“Trump’s Travel Ban: Exempting The Next Osama Bin Laden?”

Wow. What a place.

An article in the Huffington Post by my friend Dr. Bahman Baktiari:

I appreciate his calling it to my attention.

And I feel like appending to it a small fact that was just passed on to me by Helen Leon, a close friend who lives in Orlando, Florida:

You probably recall the 12 June 2016 Orlando nightclub shooting in which the 29-year-old  security guard Omar Mateen killed 49 people and wounded 53 more.  He was, obviously, a Muslim.  But so is Dr. Jamal Hakim.  My wife and I have enjoyed dinner with Dr. Hakim and his wife Hannah several times out in Orlando, and she attended the J. Reuben Clark Law School’s annual conference on law and religion last October.  I was told just a few days ago that it was Dr. Hakim who coordinated the emergency medical care for perhaps most of the victims of the nightclub attack.  Did you know that Omar Mateen was born and raised in New Hyde Park, New York?
