An aerial view from the southeast Al-Aqsa Mosque (Arabic: المسجد الاقصى) and the Dome of the Rock (Arabic: مسجد قبة الصخرة, Hebrew: כיפת הסלע), on the Temple Mount (Hebrew: הַר הַבַּיִת, Arabic: الحرم القدسي الشريف), in the Old City of Jerusalem ((Hebrew: העיר העתיקה, Arabic: البلدة القديمة). Al-Aqsa, the structure with the dark dome, is considered the third holiest site in Islam, after Mecca and Medina. The Philadelphia mosque, much newer and more humble, is named after it.
