Discrimination and Religious Liberty

A beach in Maui
I had to pay to come. But all you really need to do in order to be here on Maui next Sunday is to skip church. (Participants on some apostate message boards like to boast every week of what they’re doing instead of attending sacrament meetings. It usually involves hiking in alpine meadows, enjoying tropical beaches, inventing a cancer cure, reading Moliere in the originall French, eating gourmet meals, or some other such thing.) And, if you drink the right brand of lite beer, you’ll not only BE here, but you’ll be surrounded entirely by attractive young models who absolutely adore you. Don’t believe me? Watch the relevant television commercials!

Some time ago, I posed a rather pessimistic review of a new book on whether a balance can or should be found between gay rights and religious liberty:

“Religious Freedom and Discrimination: Why the Debate Continues”

Here’s a more optimistic review of that same new book:

“Religious Liberty vs. Anti-Discrimination: Toward a ‘Political Settlement’”
