Denardo David Whitmer grave marker
David Whitmer had been out of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for many decades when he died in Richmond, Missouri, on 25 January 1888. But he wanted his testimony about the Book of Mormon to be heard even beyond his death. Note the two books (presumably the Bible and the Book of Mormon) carved atop his grave marker and the words carved into its side.

Interpreter Radio Show — 8 September 2019

The 8 September 2019 broadcast of the Interpreter Radio Show is now accessible (as always) at no charge and stripped of commercial interruptions.  The discussants in this particular recording are Terry Hutchinson, John Gee, and Kevin Christensen.  Among other things, the episode includes an interview with Terryl Givens regarding his new book The Pearl of Greatest Price as well as a discussion of the upcoming Come, Follow Me lesson #38 on Galatians.

If, however, you want to get directly to the Interpreter Radio (audio) Roundtable for Come, Follow Me New Testament Lesson 38, “Walk in the Spirit,” which covers the Epistle to the Galatians, that roundtable has been extracted for your convenience — we’re always thinking of you! — from the 8 September 2019 broadcast of the Interpreter Radio Show as a freestanding item.  The discussants, of course, are Terry Hutchinson, John Gee, and Kevin Christensen:

One recent item each from, respectively, Book of Mormon Central and Pearl of Great Price Central:

“Is there evidence for great destruction in the land northward at the death of Christ?”

It is recorded in the American Cyclopaedia and the Encyclopaedia Britannica, that I, David Whitmer, have denied my testimony as one of the three witnesses to the divinity of the Book of Mormon; and that the other two witnesses, Oliver Cowdery and Martin Harris, denied their testimony to that Book. I will say once more to all mankind, that I have never at any time denied that testimony or any part thereof. I also testify to the world, that neither Oliver Cowdery or Martin Harris ever at an time denied their testimony. They both died reaffirming the truth of the divine authenticity of the Book of Mormon. I was present at the death bed of Oliver Cowdery, and his last words were, “Brother David, be true to your testimony to the Book of Mormon.”  (David Whitmer, An Address to All Believers in Christ [1887], 8)
