
It seems that we now have yet another baptized Mormon in the presidential race, though his stay in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints came when he was quite young and didn’t last long:
I like him. I like his biography, his bilingualism, his pragmatic conservatism, his youth. He also seems Reaganesque to me. Not strident or negative. Hopeful.
He would have been my choice as Mitt Romney’s running mate. He might have cut into the Democratic lock on Hispanics. He would have helped a great deal with Florida.
I wonder whether his connection with Mormonism was simply too much for the Romney campaign. If so, too bad.
