Plainly, as this photograph demonstrates, they’re elitist counterrevolutionary enemies of the people. Laura Bush was even a self-confessed LIBRARIAN who REGULARLY participated in so-called “literacy” events, during which she brazenly read to children. And, notoriously, George W. Bush was in the very act of shamelessly reading to school kids when he was informed of the attacks on the World Trade Center.

And it’s not merely the challenge of eliminating the undemocratic practice of parents reading to children.
While we’re at it, perhaps families should simply be abolished altogether:
Incidentally, President Thomas S. Monson has sometimes cited (with approval) a short poem by Strickland Gilliland:
You may have tangible wealth untold;
Caskets of jewels and coffers of gold.
Richer than I you can never be—
I had a Mother who read to me.
It’s such reactionary language that makes President Monson and his associates enemies of the progressive Brave New World that must be built upon the ruins of the old one in which we now suffer.
(Thanks to Doug Ealy for bringing this terrifying revolutionary issue to my attention.)
