
The Supreme Court decision compelling all federal, state, and local government entities to recognize a right to same-sex “marriage” came down on Friday, and I’ve already seen one high-profile call (on Time Magazine‘s website) for stripping churches of their tax-exempt status:

I confess to being just slightly surprised.
I had expected that we would wait until Monday for such a call.
In other news, I’ve seen specific demands for Brigham Young University to lose both its tax exemption and its accreditation. Some have claimed online that they’ve written to state schools in California with which BYU has games scheduled, demanding that BYU be dropped from their athletic schedules and that all other ties with BYU be severed. Others have called for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, in particular, to be taxed.
