A press release sent to me by my friends at BYU Studies, accompanied by a request that I bring it to your attention:

The Third Annual Conference of the BYU New Testament Commentary is “Love Never Fails: The Latter-day Saint Affinity towards 1 Corinthians.” The featured speakers are Craig Blomberg of the Denver Seminary and Kevin Barney of Mormon studies. Presenters also include Richard Draper, Michael Rhodes, David Paulsen, and John W. Welch of BYU, Julie M. Smith of the BYU New Testament Commentary, and Benjamin Spackman of the NTC seminar. It will be held Friday, July 31, from 9 am to 4 pm, at the Hinckley Center at BYU. The full program is available at http://www.byunewtestamentcommentary.com/conferences/conferencesmay-13-2015-conference/. We invite everyone to make the most of this opportunity to interact with New Testament scholars.

We are celebrating the upcoming publication of the newest e-book in the New Testament Commentary Series, which is Paul’s First Epistle to the Corinthians, by Richard D. Draper and Michael D. Rhodes. Everyone who attends the conference may register for a free copy of this e-book.

We also announce the publication of The Testimony of Luke by S. Kent Brown, available in print at the BYU Store, BYU Studies, and other locations. This book is the first print volume of a planned series covering the entire New Testament. These commentaries will combine expertise in Greek and other languages and current biblical scholarship with LDS scripture and doctrinal perspectives. For more on the project, see here.
