Unfortunately, the sound quality on the accompanying video is extremely poor. It’s still (barely) comprehensible, though, and — it’s fairly brief — is probably still worth watching:
I’ve been seeing ads featuring this ex-Mormon, Lee Baker (he identifies himself as a former bishop, which may be true, for all I know), for many months now. They invite people to go to his site, where he’ll answer questions about the Church.
Somebody is obviously shelling out some serious cash in order to have the ads prominently displayed on the Web, and they’re plainly crafted to look like pro-Mormon materials. (I noticed that last aspect immediately and with distaste, because I dislike craft and subterfuge.)
If the charges mentioned in this story are true, Lee Baker is not only obsessed with his former faith, and quite adversarial toward it, but deeply disturbed.
(Of course, as Mr. Rick Douglas Richards likes to remind me and everybody else, I don’t care about the truth.)
This story was kindly brought to my attention by Cody Quirk.
