“‘Lucy’ Species May Have Been Polygynous”

This is quite interesting, but it also strikes me (given the paucity of actual evidence) as highly speculative:

I can easily imagine several other explanations for the very limited data, and, barring additional discoveries, I don’t see how we can rule them.
