President Monson on the Book of Mormon

From time to time, I’ve read comments from critics of the Church — particularly, I think, from disaffected and cynical former believers — noting that President Thomas S. Monson never testifies to the truth of the Book of Mormon.  This is, they say, significant.  It may even reflect his own clandestine disbelief in the book.

Their claim has always been false, of course.  He has borne witness to the Book of Mormon on many occasions.

He did so again during his brief Sunday morning address at General Conference:

“President Thomas S. Monson: ‘The Power of the Book of Mormon'”

Given that address, I think it may be as long as several weeks before I next see the claim that President Monson never testifies to the truth of the Book of Mormon.  Maybe.
