Egypt this December!

My enthusiasm for the wondrously fascinating land of Egypt is always high — but it’s running especially high just now.  (I was last there only a few hours ago.)  So I want to call your attention to an opportunity to travel to and through Egypt that will occur at the end of December this year:

This ULTIMATE EGYPT tour includes Alexandria, Old Cairo, a Nubian village and the magnificent temples of Abu Simbel as well all the main highlights of Egypt. We have THE top-notch Egyptian guide, HANY TAWFEEK. He was the guide picked to escort President Obama when visiting Egypt and he has a master’s degree in Archaeology. Our headliner, Steve Densley, J.D., will present his popular lectures on Egyptian temples from a Latter-day Saint perspective. With stays in 5-star hotels and a 4-night scenic Nile River Cruise, this is an UNFORGETTABLE experience.

My wife and I have known and traveled with Hany Tawfeek during several previous trips to Egypt, most recently over the past week or so, and he’s first-rate.  He’s visited Utah before, and there’s a good chance that he’ll be in Utah again rather briefly this September or so.  If he does come, we hope and anticipate that he’ll deliver a public lecture about Egypt.  (I’ll keep you posted.)  And Steve Densley is a good friend and an associate at the Interpreter Foundation, with whom I’ve traveled in Egypt and whom I last saw in Tel Aviv about two weeks ago and with whom we’ll soon be traveling again in Israel.  He is an articulate and informed student of the ancient Egyptian temple.

From the Cruise Lady website:

STEVE DENSLEY, J.D. is an attorney, author, and the Executive Vice President of the Interpreter Foundation, an organization that supports the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints through reliable scholarship. He has published articles in the Utah Bar Journal, the Journal of Law and Family Studies, Interpreter: A Journal of Latter-day Saint Faith and Scholarship, and Meridian Magazine. He was the Executive Vice President of FairMormon from 2013-15, a recipient of the John Taylor Defender of the Faith Award, and was a producer of FairMormon’s podcast when it twice won the People’s Choice Award for Best Podcast in the Religion & Spirituality category. He has served as an Elders Quorum President, High councilor, Young Men’s President, Gospel Doctrine Teacher, and is currently the 1st Counselor in his Ward’s Bishopric.  [Actually, I believe that he was just released from the latter position.]

If you’re interested, contact Cruise Lady and at least get yourself on the waiting list.  December is a cool time to visit Egypt.  Literally.
