5. We are here for a purpose, individually and collectively.

I wish someone had talked to me as a child about composing my life along the lines of my soul’s purpose, although I know people who feel burdened by trying to figure out what their purpose is.

An individual’s purpose might be simple. To love the people you encounter. To brighten your corner of the world. To add beauty with your art or music.

I believe we come into human form with sketchy plans. Not plans for whom we’ll marry or what we’ll do for a living (well, maybe), but plans for whatever will move us into higher spiritual awareness.

That’s why we naturally seek guidance. Call it praying, listening to intuition or following your bliss. We continually take divine soundings to stay on the path we intended.

Collectively, our purpose is the same – to upgrade ourselves and the Earth, to evolve humanity through our experiences and understanding.

And we are evolving. Every generation comes in with a higher energetic vibration, which is why they can be so annoying to their elders.

For me, the bottom line of this lifetime so far – and this might apply to you, too – is that we take ourselves way too seriously and make life harder than it has to be.

When I learn how to stop doing that, I’ll let you know.
