Parliament of the World’s Religions Makes History With Inaugural Women’s Assembly

Parliament of the World’s Religions Makes History With Inaugural Women’s Assembly October 13, 2015

Religious history is being made as the Parliament of the World’s Religion readies the Inaugural Women’s Assembly and Program Initiative. The historical event will take place as part of the Parliament and women in attendance are welcome.

The Women’s Assembly will provide an until-now unprecedented opportunity for women in faith to discuss two vital topics: the responsibility of the world’s religions to affirm women’s human rights and religious inspiration for women’s empowerment.

During the assembly, women will be able to meet the leading voices of the Women’s Imitative for Global Advancement at the 2015 Parliament. The initiative is powered by the Parliament’s Women’s Task Force (PWTF), which was created to support women’s leadership and programming for Parliament business.

Some of the Women’s Assembly’s inaugural speakers are religious heroines of distinction including Terry Tempest Williams, Dr. Vandana Shiva, Ms, Lokawua Margaret and more.Attendees can share and keep up with their Women’s Assembly updates on social media by using the hashtag #FaithInWomen and liking the Women’s Assembly on Facebook.
