The speaker lineup for the 2015 Parliament of the World’s Religions is one for the record books. And rightfully so – the Parliament speaker schedule includes religious leaders, Nobel Peace Prize Laureates and interfaith activists that will touch on issues including climate change, income inequity and violence.
Chief Arvol Lookinghorse, the spiritual leader for all three branches of the Sioux tribe, is among the many religious luminaries we can’t wait to see. Aside from his cultural devotion, Chief Lookinghorse is highly regarded both within the Lakota culture and in interfaith communities. His prayers have opened countless Unites Nations sessions and he lectures on protecting religious practices and beliefs globally.Chief Lookinghorse will speak during the opening ceremony on Thursday, Oct. 15 and during the Indigenous Main Plenary on Monday, Oct. 19.
