In an example of communal harmony and brotherhood, a Kashmiri migrant brought the body of a Muslim neighbour who died in Jammu for burial here.
Abdul Rahim Zargar, who was living in a rented house in Janipur area of Jammu, died on Wednesday after a prolonged illness and his body was brought to his ancestral home by his neighbour, Sanjay Koul.
Incidentally, Koul also lived in the same localiity in downtown city as that of Zargar – Habbakadal. He had migrated to Jammu after militancy erupted in 1990.
Koul’s gesture was hailed by the majority community.
Zargar had changed residence on doctor’s advice as he was suffering from cardiac problems and orthopaedic ailments and could not bear the extreme cold during the winters, his family said.
