Charity And The Power Of Appropriation

“To give is to receive” or “What goes around comes around”

Why is every action in the altruistic domain geared towards a selfish motive? Why can’t something be just done for the sake of doing?

If the raison d’etre for giving is because you have to receive some day then isn’t this a flawed sense of giving? Worse still, can anyone really give? I cannot give a Taj Mahal away in charity can I? Why? Because I do not own it? From a larger picture – say 100,000 feet – what do we own? If Buffett is giving away $33 billion that he has generated from the use of his brain… then what does he own? When we really do not own anything in a more permanent sense then the act of giving is simply moving the objects on this planet from one hand to another.

Meanwhile, just because we have that temporary power to do so, we take the credit for sacrifice! In the entire act of giving all you did was moved a piece of money from place A to place B. While that coin moved from two distinct places you were the conduit. The Conduit pats his back on the great sacrifice.

So, I gave something I didnt own.. .with an anticipation of receiving something I would still not own. So the power to appropriate stuff on the earth is exercised towards attaining more power to appropriate still more stuff!! For what I receive will be deemed as owned – and so a candidate to the distributed or moved around by me.

Altruism and Charity is then all about the urge to amass the Power of Appropriation!! The power to distribute the nature and assets in a way that I deem fit. A misuse.
