Is IE 7.0 trying to kill Firefox and other browsers? Here is an article which may suggest that… has anyone else had similar experiences?
…a CTO of a small business in Canada, calls me up the other day and said: “I downloaded IE 7 and I have tabbed browsing now.” Within a few hours I was downloading the update “which is only for people who own legitimate copies of Windows” and browsing the net using it. I like the interface, some of the extensions they have for IE 7, but that was about it. Until that point Firefox and Flock coexisted with the new update and all was fine.
A few days later there was a Flock update and a Firefox update. I downloaded and installed both but to my great surprise when I tried to start them again none of them worked. I tried the same scenario on a laptop I use and the same situation occurred. My task manager would show Flock and Firefox as running but the browsers never opened up. I tried every trick in the book but nothing could bring my browsers up. Then I decided to apply the only thing I knew in my heart might be causing the problem, I uninstalled IE 7. Things worked immediately as they used to both on the desktop and the laptop.
