Celebrating Kids' Birthdays…

My daughter’s birthday is coming next week and we have the usual quandry – how to celebrate it? In US you have only so many ways you can celebrate kids’ birthdays – have a house party with games and magicians or clowns, go to Chuck-e-Cheeses, or go to those pottery places, or to the bouncy-rides place (like Bounce-U).

This time we have chosen the Pottery store option. So, hopefully it will be well received. But it does become a tough choice because you want to make sure that the kids are happy and the place is also "cool" enough for today’s youngsters! The place we are going to use is called "Harry the Potter" and it provides a small pottery piece to each kid to paint (minimum 10 kids should be there). They bake the pieces and glaze the and when you get back it is a real pottery thing. They also provide a plate to put the hand print on with finger-prints of the friends – which is also baked and glazed. I think it is a great idea. It comes to roughly $245 for 10 kids and Pizza and drinks are provided by the store.

Will share some of the pieces that are created there next weekend.

How do you handle such birthdays?
