Drishtikone is high on Google searches, but doesn't translate into high Google rank

Due to several movements across the hosts, my Alexa or Google rank (it once reached 5) is not too high, but for some reason, my site always appears at the top on google searches for the current topics. In politics, one of the hottest news area in the US election year, Barrack Obama’s Philadelphia speech is the hottest topic. So, if you searched for “Barrack Obama Philadelphia speech” you would think all the top shot sites will come up.. right? Hmm well Digg result is the 1st. And 2nd is yours truly’s Drishtikone!! Look at the screen shot.

So, why the heck is the predominance in search results not translating into a higher google rank?? Any explanations?
