Inclusivity and Exclusivity

Inclusivity mindset looks at an individual solution as no more than a case study for the collective. Exclusivity mindset, however, wants an individual case study to be the collective’s only solution!

Creation is nothing but the Exclusive character of the Universal to think that it is unique and its struggle with the Inclusive character of the Universal which wants to assimilate it as it is. Our world is but a reflection of that conflict. The societies are based on just these two centralities – either they are inherently Exclusive or inherently Inclusive.

The former says “I am X, so have to be Y. I am against all Ys”. The latter on the other hand announces “I am X and I don’t care who you think you are, but you are mine now”.

The societies which have the ability to welcome and assimilate others also have a dilemma to face – how to be true to their inclusive character and YET save itself from the attack of the Exclusive character which revels in the right to destroy the Inclusive? The Indian society has faced this threat ever since the first invasion occured in India. US is facing it now.

All that the Exclusivist aims to do is to try and get seated on the same pedestal as the Inclusive is on. That in itself triggers a self destructive phenomenon within the Inclusive one to its end.

The dilmemma for Inclusive society is therefore very clear – How to ensure the continuation of its Inclusive character and YET save it from the Exclusive degradation?

There is no easy answer to this question and every generation asks and answers this question in their own way. What starts with love as the means to counter this threat usually ends in use of violence. The Story of Mahabharat showed it. The story of Sikh Gurus shows it. And that is the sad part of taking on the inclusive character, that you sow you own seed of destruction, where as the world needs that inclusivity and assimilation to reach its most divine levels.

Divinity is in Union.. in assimilation. But how does it occur when Creation itself is opposed to its ownself?
