I had talked of the relative God. The issue came up because of the positing of Atma and Parmatama – Spirit and Holy Spirit – in many beliefs. These beliefs point to a God who has a relative existence. For if you were to ask who is God.. He will be one, who is located where Atma is not. So somewhere the Atma’s boundary ends and Parmatama’s boundary starts. So it is fairly easy to locate God.
In that sense, existence of a relative God is predicated not on it’s own being.. but on the existence of Atma (or the spirit)!
If there was no spirit, would there be a God?
Also, in most of these beliefs, Atma or spirit and Parmatama or the Holy Spirit, are considered to be eternal and separate! However, the beings who are spirit covered with a body was supposed to do "good". My question is why? The answer is so that spirit or Atma can rise higher. Higher to what? Why should Atma or spirit rise or be better? It will still be back in another body. Until a spirit is to go from body to body.. it will always be going through happiness and sorrow. Sorrow will never leave the side of the spirit or Atma until it has to return in a body!
So, even if an Atma or spirit becomes "better" it is still a spirit.. and so expressable through a body. So, ultimately, what is the final purpose or becoming of the spirit?
