A song a day from esnips

One reader wrote that he/she likes the song choice on “Today’s Song” section, and that I was not updating it more often 🙂 Thanks for keeping me honest! 🙂 I have changed it for today and I intend to be regular on this section, now that I know at least someone is really listening or taking note! 😀

Something about today’s song: “Dil aaj shayar hai”

This song was sung by Kishore Kumar picturized on Dev Anand for the movie “Gambler”. It is one of my favorites. Why? Because of its innovative approach to the tune given the tough prose like lyrics by Neeraj. It doesn’t seem to have any rhyme or any pattern to it.. the song seems more like a conversation. And to make a song – and so soulful one at that – was the mastery of the amazing SD Burman!
