About Sean Witty

Sean Witty is the Senior Minister of First Baptist Church in Newton (MA), seven miles outside Boston, and has a long involvement with prominent churches in lower Fairfield County, CT. He was Associate Pastor at Trinity Church in Greenwich, CT, where he worked for eleven years and was one of three founding staff members. During his tenure there, Sean helped facilitate tremendous growth in the organization, including significant increases in membership and programming, particularly focused on students and worship arts. Prior to Trinity Church, he was Associate for Student Ministries at Stanwich Church, and launched innovative worship services in other local churches. Sean began his career as a professional musician, having attended the prestigious Berkelee College of Music, followed by the University of New Haven. Following a successful stint as a guitarist and singer-songwriter, he followed his theological passion, receiving his Masters in Theological Studies at Drew University, followed by a certificate in Youth and Theology at Princeton University. Born in Wilton, CT, he and his wife, singer and actress Lynn Witty, have three boys.
