Armed with experience

Armed with experience with stormy weather,

I stride purposefully out into the day.

Mixed sun and rain is forecast,

and I know I can handle it, come what may,

I’ve purchased an umbrella!

Sometimes, I step into a puddle that

turns out to be a surprisingly deep pothole,

and I stumble and get wet and muddy.

Oh, well. I guess I need boots.
