I started this blog as a place to post my musings, articles, notes, news items, and book notices, etc. on LDS scripture. When I’d post something new I’d average a few dozen hits.
When I saw my friend Dan being publicly abused because of leaks about his dismissal from the Maxwell Institute, I decided to post a couple of items, hoping to provide a clearer context of the events than could be found in the ravings of the apostates or the typical garbling of the press. I expected a few dozen readers. However, the following as the rough number of hits in the past four days.
Thurs 1300
Fri 1200
Sat 3700
Sun 1000 (as of 4 pm)
Frankly I’m rather shocked at all the attention my blog has received. I’m also amazed, though perhaps I shouldn’t be, that so many people care more about controversy and scandal than they do about studying the scripture.
Anyway, with one additional brief notice I’ll post in a moment, I’m done commenting on this controversy. It’s over, and there is nothing that can be done to ameliorate the situation. I’ve done the best I could to stand by my friend Dan. But now I’m going back to occasional musings on what’s really important.
