“The Divine Mother, Lady of the Bones, is for everyone – connected to everyone – welcomes everyone, but that does not mean everyone is ready for Her.”
The Divine Mother is not difficult to approach. She is already present – connected to your soul, present within your body, and reflected in all your endings and beginnings. The question is not whether She welcomes you – The questions is whether you are ready to take responsibility for the relationship required to walk with Her.
In many polytheistic and animistic perspectives, each Deity/Guide have Their own Domains – aspects of life or nature that They rule over, and what They are connected to. This may vary a bit person to person, tradition to tradition, but Their core energy remains the same. This style of working can make things easier – When you are working within a specific domain, call upon the Deity/Guide that rues the domain.
When it comes to the exchange, or offerings to various Deities, it is going to depend on your personal bond and relationship with Them, as well as, what They specifically request from you. When first starting out, you may look to others – what do their offerings and devotionals look like? Why those particular things? This gives you a starting place to find inspirations and try some things out to see what the Deity/Guide likes from you. The Deity is giving you something, whether is it aid or direction, and we give back to Them – exchange builds partnership.
The Divine Mother is different. The journey with Her is different, because She is the End and Beginning of all things. She is Death itself, and being the feminine Death, She is also the rebirth and all the life in-between. Everything, all energy, comes from Her and will return to Her. She is already connected to you in this way, but to walk with Her means to consciously see, build up the bond between you, and walk in the authenticity you discover within the journey. This is the work that is different with Her.
The Divine Mother welcomes everyone – but walking with Her requires discipline, sovereignty, and accountability.

The Core
Many of the people who have connected with Her, myself included, have seen Her as the core energy, the first and the last. This perspective reveals an understanding that all the Deities come from Her, are Her “children” in that sense, connected to Her and different aspects of Her. They are all Their own energy, hold Their own sovereignty, domains, personalities, and ways – yet a part of Her. Not everyone is going to agree with this and I am not here to change your mind – I am just stating what I and others have found to be true in our experiences.
Every Deity I have worked with has this subtle, underlying current of energy, that was the same. Something deep within Them, a part of Them, but not the whole of Them. This energy was the Divine Mother. A thread that connected all of Them. Deities became faces and names of the Mother – not diminishing Them or taking away Their own power – but an understanding of the connections and a root behind Them.
Working with a face, an aspect of the Mother, is easier and cleaner, especially in the beginning. Each Deity teaches us something different. Helps us to transform and move in different ways for our own growth and benefit – not for the goal of an after-life, but in our current living life.
We learn to trust – not just Their guidance and realness, but ourselves, what we feel, what we know to be true for us, our instincts, and what we are receiving from Them.
We learn how to create true exchange and walk in partnership with. How to build that kind of relationship. What sacrifice means – not just giving up or giving over, but building a bridge between you through change, exchange, and mutual benefit for both sides.
We learn about devotion and balance. Not losing ourselves, our sovereignty, but how to be true to ourselves, know ourselves, and walk in that knowing, while also understanding we are just a part of a whole – That we are connected to others, to communities, to this world, so balance has two modes, within and outside of ourselves.
Because each Deity has specific domains, it allows us to focus and dive deep into one area. To explore, experiment, and discovery what holds true for us as an individual and what works for us personally. Through Their guidance we see new perspectives, expanding our knowledge and view, to grow and change according to what is discovered.
Through connection and devotion to one, we learn how to be in partnership. How to bond with Them. How to build respect and exchange between you. How to balance yourself and that relationship. How to focus and narrow the view in the beginning, a piece of a puzzle, then expand it outwards to see the wholeness around it, the completed puzzle.
Responsibility and Accountability
To walk with the Divine Mother, is a life commitment – not because She demands it – but because once you have touched the core, you know it is there, you can not undo what you have seen or experienced. It changes how you view and interact with all the others.
The reason many say “The Divine Mother, Lady of the Bones, is for everyone – connected to everyone – welcomes everyone, but that does not mean everyone is ready for Her.” is because not everyone is ready to meet the demands that are required to walk with Her. They have not yet developed the discipline to be consistent. To be honest with themselves, their want and needs, and why they have them. They are not ready to take responsibility for their actions even if those actions were the wrong ones or created damage somewhere. They are not ready to hold themselves accountable for their own growth and change – seeking others to blame or to show them the way they should be.
We can not control anything outside of ourselves – we can influence, reorganize, and encourage, but we can not control what another will actually do. We can however control everything within ourselves. How we think, how we feel, how we speak, and how we move. Even in bad situations, not of our making, we have choice as to how we move through that and beyond it.
Others are not responsible for our Healing – They can assist us, guide us, and walk with us, but it is up to us to heal ourselves, our energy, our life. It is up to us to do the work, dive deep and find the roots, and transform or transmute them.
Commitment isn’t just a word, it is an action. Showing up and being present comes in many forms and looks different for each of us. It changes as the relationship changes. It moves from a place of building bond to walking in your living life in companionship with Her. Her lessons, Her energy, Her Mysteries and Tools, are all guides for us – not to enrich Her but to enrich us, our life, our spiritual world. In the end we will return to Her, She is already a part of us, what we gain from this relationship is for and about us. It is to help us grow and transform, to be in this world both as an individual and part of the whole, to experience this world and grow our soul’s wisdom through that.
All of this requires a certain mind-set and understandings. I learned these things through Her faces, other Deities, before I ever knew who She was. The taught me and challenged me. This does not mean you can not do this work with the Mother, but the discipline to do the work and take responsibility for it has to be a priority. Because She welcomes all, also means She is more neutral in what we would consider morals – She will aid you in curses or healings, but you will bear the consequences of what you ask for. She may warn you, caution you on what you asking or doing, but it is your responsibility for what comes afterwards. This is a difference I have noticed between other Deities and Her, and one reason I see walking with Her as more advanced practice.

Just Beginning or Seasoned Explorer
As I said, you can connect and start walking with the Divine Mother from the start of your spiritual journey. She is kind and forgiving when we stumble and She expects us to make mistakes – it is how we learn. This path is a commitment though – a commitment to yourself, requiring honesty, responsibility, accountability, and the ability to face your shadows. She can teach you how but it is up to you to move.
If you are a more advanced practitioner, beyond just the beginning but your practices feels “stale” or repetitive, this might be a path to explore. To connect with Her and feel out if there may be something there that you are missing or a depth to explore, to advance your own path.
Start small: Light a candle, put out a glass of water for Her, grab a drink for yourself and ask for Her presence – then just talk to Her. Afterwards, give yourself some space to listen and see what happens.
I call Her the Divine Mother or the Lady of the Bones – some will call Her the All Mother, Great Mother, or Holy Death. Just like everything else, this is personal and you will figure out what fits for you and Her.
Going Deeper
If this resonates with you, and you want to go deeper and explore, we have a Priestess Path in the Temple. It is frameworks to get you started, monthly exercises to explore and connect through, devotional Pillars to keep you grounded, and a pathway to grow leadership within yourself. It doesn’t matter if you are brand new to your path or a seasoned practitioner, this path is open to you.
Like all things I offer, these are not going to be instructions to follow but places for you to start exploring and finding your own experiences through. Frameworks to help you move through different levels of growth and self transformation.
In the end, our paths, our spiritual and magical work, is personal. Sometimes we overlap, we resonate, but how we receive, perceive, and what it looks like should be a reflection of us and our path – not following another’s.
Because this working group is a part of our Temple, there is community walking with you, sharing their experiences, their creations, and what they discover along the way – which enriches all of us.
