Introducing The Story of God Bible Commentary

Introducing The Story of God Bible Commentary October 3, 2013

I am very fortunate to be part of the NT editorial team for the Story of God Bible Commentary series. In fact, in recent months I’ve been busy working away on my Romans commentary for the series, which has been an epic challenge to work through such a magnificent letter. Its a great series designed to create a set of commentaries that tackle the text in light of the Bible’s big story line and also shows how we can live out the story of the text in our own lives.

The website for the series can be found here. There’s a couple of good endorsements straight up:

“The easy-to-use format and practical guidance brings God’s grand story to modern-day life so anyone can understand how it applies today.” —Andy Stanley, Senior Pastor, North Point Ministries

“The editors and contributors open up the biblical story in ways that move us to act with sensitivity and understanding… Well done.” —Darrell L. Bock, Dallas Theological Seminary

The first two volumes are by Lynn Cohick on Philippians and Scot McKnight on The Sermon on the Mount. Both are great and well worth your time, esp. if you’re needing a commentary to help you preach through these books in your church.

If you want a good foretaste of Cohick and McKnight, then check these FREE (yes I said “free”) ebooks based on their commentaries:

Lynn Cohick on Eager Expectations

Scot McKnight on Kingdom Vision
