This past weekend I preached a sermon at my church Christ Community Church. The sermon was the final in a series on the locations of the Christmas story.
I give credit to Jim Nicodem, my pastor, for a creative take on the Nativity Story. By the way, Jim has his own blog, called Bible Savvy, where he helps believers draw practical meaning for life from the Bible. It is a great resource for people who find it difficult to read the Bible on their own. Jim is a self-style Bible reading coach for the average Joe and Jill – and a great one at that!
My sermon’s topic was the location Egypt. It is no historical geography lesson however. In this sermon I’m more interested in Egypt’s symbolic geography, than its physical geography. The sermon is an invitation to visit the meaning of Egypt to hear God’s invitation to leave our Egypt for a life of infinite fullness. I trust it will be a blessing to you.
