David Wenkel (Ph.D., University of Aberdeen) is an adjunct professor of Bible at Moody Bible Institute and one of my former PhD students. He is the author of Joy in Luke-Acts: The Intersection of Rhetoric, Narrative, and Emotion (Paternoster). He is a gifted writer and expresses ideas very well.

In this book, he basically gives a biblical theology of encounters with God, beginning with the Garden of Eden and ending in the New Heavens and New Earth. If you wanted to do a sermon series on this topic, this is an excellent book to guide you and to get you going on it, a useful survey of a repeated biblical theme.
