The Soloist – Movie Review

To be fair, I should say up front that as actors go, I love me some Jamie Foxx & Robert Downey Jr.  And fine, the two of them are at least 1/2 the reason why I really enjoyed this movie.  Besides each of them adding their own unique subtle humor, they acted their little hearts out in some beautiful & gut wrenching scenes.

It has the potential for being a bit drawn out however it’s hard to say since, we watched this in two sittings -once at the hospital & just now during a mid-day nursing session. 🙂

I’ll admit I’m a sucker for a true story and in that sense this film just sucked me right in.  I found myself deeply invested in the characters and their outcome.  I found it to be touching, heartwarming, funny and at times profoundly sad.  A great combination for a film.

Overall, I really enjoyed this film & highly recommend it.
