50/50 – Movie Review

50/50 – Movie Review

  I watched 50/50 the other night, and felt compelled to write a review because I enjoyed it so. very. much.

I was hesitant to watch it at first because Seth Rogen uses the F-Bomb entirely too much in every single film he’s in and I grow tired of hearing Seth Rogan talking about sex and weed while dropping the F-Bomb. (Knocked Up was barely tolerable because of him).  Essentially, he plays the same loser in every film.

But, ALAS in this film, he’s likeable.  He plays a supportive best friend of Joseph Gordon-Levitt who learns he has a tumor in his spine with only a 50/50 chance of living….

The film is so sweet, so heartfelt, so honest.  Anjelica Huston plays the worried, over-bearing Mother in a way that’s spot on…not annoying but understandable.  She’s incredible.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt carries the film for sure.  Ever since 10 Things I Hate About You, have I loved Joseph Gordon-Levitt.  Then he grew up and impressed me with 500 Days of Summer & Inception.  He’s a hot tamale that happens to look a lot like my husband so it’s all very understandable that I’d love him.  Obviously.

Rawr.

What I LOVED most about the film was the chemistry between he & love interest, Anna Kendrick.  Made me swoon.  So. Go rent it.  Definitely worth the hour & a half!  You will laugh and if you have a soft-side, shed a few tears as well.

A+++++
