Rihanna’s Response: Part 2

Rihanna’s Response: Part 2

Back in May I posted this blog post about whether or not Rihanna should speak out about the domestic abuse she suffered from Chris Brown.  At the time, I was glad she had kept silent though several media outlets were criticizing her silence as being “irresponsible,” about such a serious issue.

I find it hard to believe that they could criticize a young 20 yr. old woman who is an international super star and just been beaten by her equally famous boyfriend.  If the weight of the world wasn’t on her shoulders I don’t know what was.Rihanna

Now she has decided to speak out in an interview with Diane Sawyer which will air tonight.  It seems from the clip she has been completely honest about both how she felt then & now and about what went down that night. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to watch it seeing as how we ditched all channels but stanky WGN.

As I said in the last blog post, though I abhor what Chris Brown did I have been very proud of how he has taken responsibility for what he did on multiple levels.  I am also happy to see that Rihanna is speaking out about this and pray it will lead other battered women to take steps away from their abuser.

Just in case you need it…
