Honestly, I should have my blogging privileges removed for that negative post yesterday!  I’m a little well rested & feeling better today. Anyway, a couple of my friends sent me this link to a very sweet Mothers day message, which you can find here. I ended up having a great Mommy’s Day weekend ~baking, frosting & enjoying a chocolate cake with Ransom ~playing Candyland with Ransom (I won, wohoo! 🙂 ~taking a long walk with Ransom while he rode his... Read more

1.  It has been a heck of a two weeks.  5 minutes ago, I finished my last & final paper for the semester & I am so relieved to be done for this semster. 2.  I’m throwing up again & feeling overall miserable & discouraged about being pregnant.  I feel like such a jerk for saying this but I don’t enjoy being pregnant.  It sort of sucks.  I realize my attitude about it is poor & I’m sorry but I... Read more

I’ve been thinking a lot about this whole Rihanna domestic abuse thing. It bugged me slightly that a day after she was beat up by Chris Brown, her publicist released only this statement: “Rihanna is well.” But then again, what did I expect?  “Rihanna is horrified that not only did her boyfriend beat her up, it has become global news and she is mortified that the photo of wounds sustained has been illegally released by the police department.”  Obviously, none... Read more

Okay, this is me… at 17. Notice: ~the hair parted down the middle & slicked into a giant bun. ~The lips outlined in brown eye-liner. ~The eyebrows are all shaved off & drawn in (not well). ~The giant (& dingy) silver hoop earrings. The choker!  The choker that had a little charm on it but broke off & I wore it anyway. ~The pants were sheer, pleated (pleated!) & floor length! ~The pose that says: “look at me – dang... Read more

The sad thing about my job with InterVarsity is that every year, a new herd of “my” students, graduates.  (At least it feels like they are mine).  Often, in the Bible Jesus spoke about those he loved as his flock and he was the Shepherd.  It is so weird and bizarre to be a shepherd of a flock of sheep who move on every 4 years to spread out -literally- all over the globe and become part of a new... Read more

When I was growing up, when I would get sick of a boyfriend I would just stop calling or seeing him or otherwise ignore him.  I was horrible.  I never had a good break-up experience in my life.  I’m sure that if cell phones were available then, I would have been the one who texted, “we aint together no more.” Anyhoo, thats how I feel about my blog.  Perhaps I got too carried away with trying to blog everyday &... Read more

I have a great set of moms.  My biological mother who all her grandchildren call, “Nana” came over last weekend to help me out with Ransom.  She was so perplexed by how much laundry needed to be done she did all of it (a lot) & also out of sheer frustration cleaned out our fridge, swept & mopped the kitchen floor & vacuumed the house.  I happened to be feeling miserable this weekend -really tired & really nauseaus- so the... Read more

Tonight we spent our family time going to see the movie, “Earth.”  It’s really beautiful.  Amazing, inspiring earth images.  It was also pretty darn sad.  Watching the reality that some cute little baby animal has to die so that some other cute baby animal & their family can survive.  No worries about your kiddos ~ they do not show the graphic parts of this unfortunate part of the circle of life.  The movie made me long for the day when... Read more

I read somewhere the other day that The McCain Family -mom & pop- gave $1,800 in charitable giving out of their estimated $280k they made last year.  I think that sucks.  It’s less than 1% of their income for the year.  And this is the dude most of evangelical America wanted for their prez?  Shame on us.  If our presidential hopeful can’t even write one check for more than $2k to a single organization who is doing good in the... Read more

Our tax guy figured out how to get a whopping $3,200 off our tax bill ~ Amazing! Since I’ve been on anti-naseau meds I’ve thrown up twice as less and not once today ~ Amazing! Dave & I are being given the precious gift of bringing another child into the world, which is truly a miracle ~ Amazing! Lastly, Ransom’s AMAZINGinly rude comments last night while signing our tax papers: Ransom:  Looks at our tax dude, then looks at me... Read more
