Why did you start your blog?

February, 2010. After shopping a personal finance book proposal around, all the publishers said I needed my own audience, so I started the blog. Now I’m thinking, why should I pay a publisher to publish my books. I have an audience and I can publish them myself.

If you could give one piece of advice to someone getting out of debt, what would it be?

DO NOT AVOID REALITY. Start NOW and write down every single creditor, how much you owe, minimum payment and date due.

Then, pay more than the minimum on at least one debt!

Do you have a favorite quote about money?

“A penny saved is a penny earned.” I’m a huge fan of saving.

What are your goals for your site in the next year?

At least one new book, 20 Minute Guide to Personal Finance for the New College Grad.

Besides blogging, what do you like to do for fun?

I am a decorating addict, I love HGTV!! And of course, I am passionate about spending time doing fun stuff with my hubby!

Why does everyone ask this? :) I have no idea!

What’s the latest book you’ve read? Any favorite books you’d recommend?

I am in the midst of Malcolm Gladwell’s Blink. It is incredible. I love books that make me think and challenge my life perspective. A must read for anyone who thinks “snap decisions” are bad.

Do you have a favorite comic strip?

I love Dilbert. I have the daily Dilbert calendar with a comic strip for each day. (Bought in February for a buck :))
